Nutrition Awareness Camps-2026
Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF) continues to demonstrate its commitment to community engagement and public health by organizing Nutrition Awareness Camps to promote healthy eating habits and positive lifestyle practices. Under the visionary leadership of the Worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen, T.I., and the supervision of the Head of the Department, Dr. Madiha Ilyas, the Nutrition Counselling Centre (NCC) organized a series of nutrition awareness camps at Government Comprehensive Model Higher Secondary School, Samanabad; Tabeer School, Jhang Road; and Faisal Hospital, East Canal Road, Faisalabad. The camps promoted awareness of balanced nutrition, healthy eating habits, and lifestyle modifications among students, teachers, hospital staff, patients, and visitors. Participants received anthropometric assessments, including height, weight, and Body Mass Index (BMI) measurements, followed by personalized dietary counselling and evidence-based nutritional guidance to encourage healthy food choices and help prevent nutrition-related disorders. These outreach initiatives reflect GCWUF's commitment to public health promotion, community engagement, and social responsibility, while reinforcing the Department of Nutritional Sciences' role in translating academic expertise into meaningful community service.
