Labelling Camp: Empowering Consumers to Make Informed Food Choices-2025

To encourage healthier and more informed food choices, the Nutrition Counselling Centre (NCC) of the Department of Nutritional Sciences at GCWUF organized a Food Label Reading Awareness Camp under the supervision of the Head of Department, Dr. Madiha Ilyas. The camp offered hands-on guidance in interpreting food labels, enabling participants to understand serving sizes, nutritional values, ingredient lists, and health claims. Interactive product comparison activities provided practical experience in evaluating packaged foods and distinguishing healthier options. The initiative empowered participants with essential skills to make informed purchasing decisions and adopt healthier eating habits. Through engaging discussions and interactive learning sessions, the camp emphasized the vital role of food label literacy in preventing diet-related diseases and promoting overall well-being. The successful event reaffirmed GCWUF's commitment to advancing nutrition education, fostering public health awareness, and empowering the community to make healthier lifestyle choices.
