GC Women University Faisalabad celebrated Punjabi Cultural Day & the 5th Annual Book Fair with vibrant literary and cultural activities on campus. Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen inaugurated the cultural celebrations alongside Farooq Yousaf Sheikh President FCCI, while MPA Ms. Uzma Raja, inaugurated the Book Fair. The event titled ???Kitaab Mela, Punjabi Saqafat te Rehtal,??? highlighted the richness of Punjabi language, books, and indigenous heritage. The Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ameen emphasized nurturing our rich Punjabi traditions and the reading culture. She appreciated the organizing teams for a well-coordinated and meaningful celebration. Day One featured traditional food stalls, Punjabi attire, live pottery, a cultural exhibition, a stage adaptation of Heer Ranjha, and a lively poetic session by renowned Punjabi humorist Yasir Malangi. The event was organized by the Library Committee and the Department of Arabic, in collaboration with the Directorate of Students??? Affairs (DSA) and the Women Development and Mentoring Centre (WDMC). The notable guests included ex-MPA Dr. Najma Afzal, President Society of Reading and Knowledge Faisalabad Rana Abid, all university staff, faculty and students. Day Two will include an MoU signing between GCWUF & UAF libraries, followed by a Punjabi Mushaira.
