Research Area
Molecular Biology, Gene Expression Regulation, Genetic Engineering, Cell culture maintenance, and transfection.
In my PhD research I have worked on Human MCF7 breast cancer cell line. I have found the effect of RNA helicase p68 and U1 snRNP in the regulation of intronic polyadenylation in MCF7 cells. I used si-RNA mediated knockdown of proteins by transfection of human cell lines, following reporter assay and quantitative PCR to establish the role of p68. Cell line was transfected with plasmids to overexpress the proteins. p68 plasmid transfection following mRNA isolation, reverse transcription, and qPCR further prove the role of both proteins in the mRNA processing.
