Mentoring Program for Universities (MPU): Session on Communication Skills , Date: 17 June 2026, Time: 10:30 a.m. 12:00 p.m. Venue: Jinnah Auditorium, Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF) Organized by: Faculty & Staff Development Center (FSDC), GCWUF under Mentoring Program for Universities (MPU) The Faculty & Staff Development Center (FSDC), Government College Women University Faisalabad, successfully organized a mentoring session titled Communication Skills under MPU. The session aimed to enhance the communication competencies of mentees and equip them with practical strategies for effective professional and academic interactions. The session was highly interactive, engaging, and participant-centered. Prof. Dr. Saima Akram, Dr. Sumera Anwar, and Dr. Syeda Samina Tahira facilitated the session using a variety of innovative instructional approaches, including videos, live polls, reflective exercises, group discussions, and communication-based activities to actively involve the mentees throughout the session. Prof. Dr. Saima Akram emphasized the significance of effective communication in academic and professional settings, highlighting the role of confidence, clarity, and active listening in successful interactions. Through practical examples and interactive discussions, she encouraged participants to reflect on their communication practices and identify areas for improvement. Dr. Syeda Samina Tahira highlighted the importance of professional etiquette, non-verbal communication, and empathetic engagement in educational environments. Dr. Sumera Anwar engaged the participants through thought-provoking activities and collaborative exercises designed to strengthen interpersonal communication skills. Mentees actively participated in discussions, shared their experiences, and demonstrated a keen interest in applying the communication strategies presented by the speakers. The session maintained a high level of enthusiasm throughout and provided valuable opportunities for practical learning and self-reflection.
