"Symposium on Novel Functional Materials for Smart and Interactive Textiles (FMSIT)" held on January 26, 2026, at the National Textile University, Faisalabad (NTU-FSD)

Dr. Ayesha Younus, Chairperson and Associate Professor, Department of Physics, along with her M.Phil students, proudly represented the department at the Symposium on Novel Functional Materials for Smart and Interactive Textiles (FMSIT) held on January 26, 2026, at the National Textile University, Faisalabad (NTU-FSD). The symposium provided a valuable academic platform for the presentation and discussion of advanced research in functional materials, smart textiles, and emerging interdisciplinary technologies. Dr. Ayesha Younus served as a Session Chair during the symposium, where she actively facilitated technical discussions, encouraged knowledge sharing, and promoted constructive interaction among researchers, faculty members, and students. The event fostered the exchange of novel ideas, recent scientific developments, and innovative research methodologies, while strengthening academic and research collaboration among various universities and research institutions. Faculty members and students from the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF), Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF), University of Engineering and Technology (UET), University of the Punjab, Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF), and National Textile University (NTU) actively participated in the technical sessions and poster competition. Three M.Phil students from the Department of Physics participated in the poster competition, demonstrating their research potential and contributing to an interactive academic environment. It is a matter of great pride that Miss Maryam Taimoor, M.Phil Physics student, secured second position in the poster competition. Her research work was highly appreciated by external evaluators for its scientific quality, innovation, and practical relevance. Participation in FMSIT 2026 reflects the department s commitment to excellence in research, interdisciplinary learning, and active engagement with the national academic community, while opening avenues for future mutual collaborations and joint research initiatives among participating institutions.
