Training Session on 'Research, Scientific Writing & Publishing' Date: 16th July 2025 Venue: Jinnah Auditorium, GCWUF Time: 10:00 am ' 01:00 pm Speaker: Dr. Muhammad Rafique, University of the Punjab, Lahore Organized by: Faculty & Staff Development Center (F&SDC), GCWUF As part of the Summer Camp 2025 initiative, the Faculty & Staff Development Center (FSDC) at Government College Women University Faisalabad organized second training session, under the theme Professional Growth, entitled as 'Research, Scientific Writing & Publishing.' The session aimed to cultivate research excellence and enhance scholarly productivity among GCWUF faculty. The event began with an overview of the objectives and vision of the Faculty & Staff Development Center , presented by the Incharge FSDC. This vision is fully aligned with the directives and academic philosophy of the Honorable Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen (T.I.), who has consistently advocated for a research-driven institutional culture and international academic visibility. It was followed by an insightful and engaging presentation by the distinguished guest speaker, Dr. Muhammad Rafique from the University of the Punjab, Lahore. He provided practical guidelines on formulating research problems, structuring scientific manuscripts, identifying credible journals, and navigating the peer-review process. Dr. Rafique also highlighted the essential components of impactful research and emphasized the importance of ethical standards and integrity in academic publishing. Honorable Vice Chancellor GCWUF, Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen (T. I.), graced the occasion and shared her valuable reflections on her personal journey of research and publication. She elaborated on the ethics and norms governing responsible conduct of research, underscoring the need for originality, transparency, and accountability. The Vice Chancellor also emphasized the significance of building academic networks and fostering collaborative engagements to ensure visibility and growth in the field of research and publishing. The session was attended by faculty members of all disciplines, who actively participated in the interactive discussion and expressed appreciation for the practical relevance of the content. This initiative marks another step by GCWUF toward transforming its academic ecosystem and nurturing a research-driven institutional culture.
