Faisalabad, September 28, 2026: The reconstituted Affiliation Committee of Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF) held its first meeting today at 10:30 a.m. in the University's Video Conference Room. Prof. Dr. Saima Akram, Chairperson, Department of Mathematics and Coordinator, Faculty of Computing and Numerical Sciences, presided as Convener. The meeting was attended by the Faculty Coordinators, the Registrar, the Controller of Examinations, the Treasurer, the Director Quality Enhancement Cell, the Deputy Librarian, and the Additional Registrar (Academics), who serves as Secretary. Welcoming the members, the Convener said the Committee's task is to start affiliating public and private colleges in line with HEC policy. The Committee reviewed the University's Affiliation/Disaffiliation Statutes 2025 and the HEC Affiliation Policy, and discussed the framework for applications, eligibility criteria, inspections and quality assurance. The Committee adopted an action plan and gave members responsibilities with clear timelines. It also decided to hold an awareness session for principals of public and private colleges interested in affiliation with the University. "We are building our affiliation system from the ground up, and we want to build it right," said Prof. Dr. Saima Akram. "Affiliation with GCWUF should be a mark of quality: a process that is transparent and timely for colleges, and gives their students degrees of real value.
