Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal Inaugurates Two New Hostel Blocks at GCWUF and Takes Oath from Bano Shaheen Members

September 24, 2026: Prof. Ahsan Iqbal, Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, accompanied by Rana Ahsaan Afzal, Coordinator to the Prime Minister, was warmly welcomed today to GC Women University Faisalabad by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen (T.I.), and the university community. Prof. Ahsan Iqbal inaugurated two newly constructed hostel blocks at the University???s New Campus. Addressing the faculty, staff, and students at the Main Campus, he highlighted the vital role of education, innovation, and skilled youth in Pakistan???s development. He encouraged students to pursue knowledge with purpose, embrace emerging technologies, and contribute actively to the country???s progress under the vision of Uraan Pakistan, an initiative under YPDC, and took an oath from students of the ???Bano Shaheen Program??? coming from various universities in Faisalabad. He urged them to become responsible agents for positive social, economic and environmental change. Earlier, a brief overview of the University???s academic progress and institutional achievements were presented by the Vice Chancello Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen. She reaffirmed the University???s resolve to equip its students with the knowledge, confidence, and skills required to contribute meaningfully to national development. President YPDC, GCWUF, Ms. Maleeka Siddiqa, presented a report on YPDC activities to the honorable minister. Senior government and university officials, faculty members, staff, and students from GCWUF and other universities in Faisalabad attended the event.
